Advent

The period from today (11/27) to 12/24 is Advent.  One candle is lit for each Sunday service to 12/25 (Christmas service).  For each candle, we feel the coming of the Nativity of the Lord Jesus Christ.

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  He was with God in the beginning.  Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.  In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind.  The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.”  (New Revised Bible, John 1:1-5)

Looking at the current world situation, I can't help but think that it's a world of "darkness".  I never thought that Russia, a great power, would attack Ukraine.  This “darkness” has been highlighted that a large amount of corrupted money moved during the Tokyo Olympics.  Also, greedy interest related to profit in coronavirus pandemic has become clear.

Recently, it has become clear that the relationship between politicians (mostly from the Liberal Democratic Party) and the former Unification Association has continued since the period of Prime Minister Nobusuke Kishi.  The distortion of Japanese politics has come to light.  There is “Darkness” “Darkness” and Darkness”.

As we approach Christmas, during Advent, "He had life. This life was the light of man. The light shines in the darkness. The darkness has not overcome

light." Let us ponder the words of God.  (Pastor)
