“Fearing unhappiness more than happiness”

  “Fearing unhappiness more than happiness”

It is my opinion that people seem to fear “unhappiness” more than “happiness”.

It is said that the reasons for buying expensive pots and crystals through religious marketing is not to become happy.  It is to avoid misfortunes or to remove the cause of unhappiness.  Even if people are told that they are "happy", they have no idea what that means if their present situation is not bad. As such, they do not seek happiness further.

However the word, unfortunate, is more concrete and realistic.  A lot of unfortunate things happen in our lives, as such stepping off the stairs, injuring oneself, a child gets ill, failing at work, exam and many others.  There are as many misfortunes.

Don't we fall into an illusion to think that donating expensive jars and crystals is not a high price if you can avoid misfortunes?  Moreover, there are many misfortunes.

If you let people think that misfortunes can’t be avoided due to few donations, more new donations will flood in, one after another.

Not everything in life is full of misfortunes. There are happy events. People who have been brainwashed may unconsciously believe that "happiness" is due to donating expensive jars and crystals. Religious marketing is a dishonest business.
